Moblin adalah sebuah platform berbasiskan Linux yang dioptimasi untuk perangkat komputasi berukuran kecil. Proyek Moblin adalah inisiatif dari Intel Open Source yang dibuat untuk mengembangkan software untuk smartphone, netbook dan perangkat mobile lainnya. Moblin berjalan pada Intel Atom, sebuah chip murah dengan kebutuhan daya yang rendah. Fungsi sistem operasinya serupa dengan sistem Windows dan Macintosh tetapi didesain untuk bentuk yang lebih kecil untuk perangkat yang terkoneksi ke internet. Perangkat yang sedang menjalankan Moblin bisa booting dengan cepat dan bisa online selama beberapa detik. Platformnya kompatibel dengan hardware-hardware untuk kebanyakan perangkat mobile. Interface yang mendukung input touch screen dan tidak menggunakan ikon atau search tetapi didesain untuk memudahkan operasi dan proses input di sebuah perangkat kecil dengan merinci berdasarkan heading kategori dan subheading. M-zone (me zone) mengkategori item kedalam daerah atau zona seperti “Recent Activities”, “Recent social networking updates” dan “Recent files and websites”. Moblin adalah singkatan dari “mobile Linux”.
